Protégé Partners, LLC was founded in early 2002 by Jeffrey Tarrant and Ted Seides.
In July 2002, Protégé launched its first multi-manager portfolio focused on smaller hedge funds with a bias
towards managers with specialized and/or niche strategies. The strategy is a unique “hybrid multi-manager portfolio,”
investing both with “arms-length managers” and also seeking to strategically invest with new hedge fund managers called “seed managers”.
In 2007, Scott Bessent joined as a senior investment principal and Protégé’s product offering expanded that summer
to include another hybrid multi-manager portfolio. Protégé Partners II, LLC (collectively with Protégé Partners, LLC
and its affiliates, "Protégé") was founded in 2007 and launched a multi-manager portfolio focused on smaller flexible, opportunistic and
generalist managers, rather than specialized managers. The addition of Scott and his team also provided an opportunity
to offer a direct trading strategy with a concentrated, global portfolio of long and short investments.
Protégé has its headquarters in New York and currently employs 42 professionals with 47 employees in total.
The Protégé portfolios are managed on behalf of high net worth and institutional investors globally.
Protégé Partners, LLC is a registered investment advisor with the SEC. Its affiliates, including Protégé Partners II, LLC,
are unregistered, although they follow a registered investment advisor's compliance regime.
